The remastered truly did an amazing job with Tomb Raider 3! Except for one level: Thames Wharf. This is easily my least favourite level in the entire Tomb Raider franchise. Plain terrible. BUT. The original in TR3 had this very gorgeous violet hue that really took the level to a.. whole other level (no pun intended)! The atmosphere was darker, more mysterious, and it really felt like you were a spy on some secret mission.
Note that this violet palette was actually only visible on the playstation 1 version of the game, not the pc one. But still: it just looks so much better, I wish they had kept it on pc too! The remastered brightened everything too much, and completely abandoned the purples, changing the overall vibe of this first London level, making it lose that magic that I felt with the original graphics.
